The bag-filter principle is a new type of filtration system. Inside the filter machine, a metal mesh basket supports the filter bags. Liquid flows in through the inlet, passes through the filter bags for filtration, and then exits from the outlet. Impurities are trapped within the filter bags, and after replacing the filter bags, the system can continue to be used.
It is becoming increasingly common for bag-filter systems to partially replace cartridge filters—bag filters offer large processing capacities, compact sizes, and high dirt-holding capacities. A No. 2 filter bag has an effective filtration area equivalent to that of 20 10-inch cartridges. From both a cost and efficiency perspective, bag filters outperform cartridge filters.
